This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile app Universal Remote 2.0 (“the App”) handles information. The App is a Wi‑Fi TV remote for devices on your local network. No account is required.
1. Information we process
- Local app data — trial / unlock entitlement and preferences stored on your device (for example via local storage).
- Local network discovery — the App scans your local Wi‑Fi to find compatible TVs (for example Roku, Samsung, LG, Android TV / Google TV) and sends remote-control commands to devices you select. Discovery and control traffic stays on your local network and is not uploaded to Goldring Labs servers.
- Purchase data — if you buy the one-time unlock, Apple App Store / Google Play Billing process the transaction. We receive purchase status needed to unlock the App (not your full payment card details).
2. How we use information
- Discover and control TVs you choose on your local network
- Remember trial / unlock status on this device
- Process and restore the one-time unlock purchase
3. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Information may be processed by:
- Apple App Store / Google Play (distribution and billing)
- Your TV / streaming devices on the same Wi‑Fi (only when you connect and send commands)
The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs.
4. Children
The App is a utility remote. It is not directed at children under 13.
5. Retention and deletion
Local entitlement data is removed when you clear app data or uninstall. To ask about purchase-related records, email support@goldringlabs.com.
6. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
